BIOGRAPHY
MANY MEN HAVE TRIED hail from Vienna, Austria where in the dull, dark and soundless december of 2003, five guys were at the bottom of one of
these abysses, when the decision was made that, through sound and motion, brittled bones must be shattered.
Taking a different direction from their side projects (some of the members play in Nothing Gold Can Stay, Anchors X Up, Dreck), with a
sound which can be compared to seminal mid-90's hardcore bands like Unbroken and Shai Hulud (but still exposing atypical influences from
NOFX and Suicidal Tendencies), MANY MEN HAVE TRIED play, in a really own and passionate way, an aggressive melodic and refined hardcore.
MANY MEN HAVE TRIED already shared the stage with some well known acts like Shai Hulud, Bold, Burst, Give Up The Ghost, Cursed, Stretch Arm Strong, Children Of Fall, Face The Fact, The Secret, With Love.
“I'll be honest: I HATE metalcore. I grew up on 80s speed metal, so all those skinny dudes mixing bad metal riffs with lame mosh parts give me the creeps. But this demo is pretty fucking rad. Many Men Have Tried are all hardcore kids, but they play straight up metal. What sets them apart from the rest is that they don't try to come across tough, and their
music sounds almost light hearted. They have the growling vocals, the melodic guitar leads, the pummeling rhythm section, and it all goes together extremely well. I can see why they get compared to Shai Hulud a lot, but I seriously don't hear that. Many Men Have Tried could destroy Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban AND any other metalcore band any day,
