EVERYTHING FAMILIAR is a 9 tracks CD released on Refoundation records and is a collection of all material released thus far by Phoenix's RUN WITH THE HUNTED.
The young five-some started out in late 2006 and released in 2007 a CD EP titled "Find Your Way Out" which was followed up earlier this year by another 12" EP "Destroy all calendars".
Their heavy fast-paced and raging hardcore with metallic riffing has influences rooted in the 90's and bands like Shai Hulud come good as reference point in particular way with the tracks included in their first EP "Find Your Way". While the more recent stuff (track 1 to 5) included in "Destroy All Calendars" has more a modern feel to it and mixes also some The Hope Conspiracy, Give Up The Ghost, Modern Life Is War, Comeback Kid and Italian Gold Kids.
Lyrically there's lot to think about with lyrics dealing personal or political struggles.
"I'll choose my battles carefully but I'll always choose to fight, injustice is never acceptable" off "of course it's dark, it's a suicide note".
"there's power in the soil if you let yourself believe, and there's good company to be found at eye level, stop looking up, stop feeling down, stop trying to be found, lose yourself, there's a liar in everything familiar" off "time and pressure".
"the harsh realities of a world gone cold devoid of the human warmth which once radiated from a thousand hearts beating a common beat" off "I've made a mistake".
Intense, urgent, passionate and very likely to get you hitting the mosh pit.
